Frieda Kay is a realist painter. She enjoyed her childhood in small town in Iran. Her hometown was
a valley of colorful flowers. Gardening was her mother’s favorite hobby. Her pomegranate garden was shining with the red blooms in spring. Her
Persian roses smelled so sweet. Her charming pansies were smiling at the world. Helpless morning glories were everywhere and, reaching out for
help to lean on. And especially local red tulips, and blue Irises
and other wild flowers in her Garden were indication of joyful life of her own. Frieda grew up in that little paradise. She experienced love and
kindness of her family. And saved it in her heart and memories. Her uncle was her first mentor. And he was the best encouragement for her
childhood drawing dreams. At 7 she could draw portrait of her family members. She immigrated to America in 1978. And she completed her college
study in New
Jersey. In 1984 she moved to California. 2 years later she began to paint again. Her mentor
Houshang Payman, who is the one of the best existing Persian painter. Actually this was the honor for her to learn the techniques from master of
realistic painting.
Her art communicates a love and respect for the natural world. The complete generosity and epic
qualities of nature inspire her.
The essence is to express the peace, joy and the beauty of natural world. Her masterpiece Grapes
indeed is the performance of God’s glory on canvas.
She is very grateful for the presence of God in her life. She truly believes and trusts her lord.
Her faith brought her a new and real vision to see the beauty side of life. She draws her strength from two areas. The main area is love and
trust for God. And the other one is her far past memories of her Family and her hometown
She would love to share her joy and happiness with others.
While she was working on her favorite painting Grapes, she received her lord’s massage to share it
with the whole world.
